USMC TRAINING EXERCISES AND FLIGHT OPERATIONS SCHEDULED THIS MONTH AT LOS ALAMITOS ARMY AIRFIELD

LOS ALAMITOS, Calif. – Visiting U.S. Marine Corps units will be engaged in training exercises conducted at Los Alamitos Army Airfield (LAAAF) at various times throughout the month of May, including flight operations utilizing  V-22 Osprey tiltrotor aircraft that feature vertical takeoff and landing and short takeoff and landing capabilities.

The exercises, which are designed to maintain overall operational readiness and enhance proficiency of the personnel involved in the mission, may include flight operations outside of normal airfield operating hours.

The Osprey has a unique noise signature and residents of communities located near LAAAF may hear the sound of these aircraft arriving and departing the airfield.

As always, efforts will be taken to minimize inconvenience to our neighbors.
