LOS ALAMITOS ARMY AIRFIELD TO TAKE CENTER STAGE IN OPERATION PATRIOT HOOK 2014
JOINT FORCES TRAINING BASE LOS ALAMITOS, Calif.
Los Alamitos Army Airfield will be bustling with activity from April 23 – 28 and residents of the communities surrounding the Joint Forces Training Base familiar with the sight and sound of California Army National Guard helicopters based at the airfield will see and hear a variety of large United States Air Force transport aircraft engaged in flight operations. The aircraft are part of Operation Patriot Hook 2014, a multi–‐service exercise designed to provide training in quickly deploying first responders in the event of an emergency in Southern California. In addition to the Air Force Reserve and National Guard, participating agencies will include the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), the Department of Homeland Security’s Border Patrol Search, Trauma and Rescue (BORSTAR) unit, plus multiple Guard and Reserve contingency response teams. The exercise will be conducted predominantly during normal airfield operating hours.
