The Los Alamitos Volunteer Program has been in existence for the past eight years and approximately 600 plus have joined L.A.V.P. since its inception. The program provides an opportunity for youth ages 11 to 17 years old to make a difference in the City of Los Alamitos and the surrounding communities.
Members are able to learn teamwork, leadership, participate in job training workshops, and become CPR/ First Aid certified. These skills will help each volunteer develop their portfolio of professional skills and gain valuable training for their future.
L.A.V.P. is also designed to assist participants in acquiring valuable job skills by offering opportunities to get involved in the community year-round. L.A.V.P. members play key roles in enhancing the City’s programs and community wide special events. This summer, approximately 65 members volunteered logging over 3,700 hours this summer.
