 Trisha Murphy Appointed to the City Council

 Los Alamitos, CA – Welcome our newest Council Member, Trisha Murphy. Mrs. Murphy was appointed as the District 2 Council Member at a Special meeting on October 24, 2022.  

The Council voted to appoint a member to fill the vacancy until the next General Municipal Election on November 5, 2024. Per the Council’s direction, the City Clerk’s Office coordinated an open recruitment from September 27 through October 18, 2022. City Council interviewed three applicants all of which were current City Commissioners, Gary Loe, Trisha Murphy, and Daniel Patz, on October 24, 2022, at a Special meeting open to the public.  Council voted to appoint Trisha Murphy.  Mrs. Murphy was sworn in the same evening by City Clerk Quintanar. Her first meeting as a seated Council Member will be November 14, 2022.

Trisha Murphy grew up in Diamond Bar, CA, and has been a resident of Los Alamitos for over 6 years and with her husband, Damien, and three children.   She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from California State University, Fullerton. She worked in diversified Asset Management with a focus in Real Estate for over 20 years while continuing endeavors in marketing, law and community engagement. Trisha recently retired and has launched a small business called Fickle Bliss LLC. 

Trisha was appointed as a member on the Parks, Recreation, and Cultural Arts Commission in 2018 and was reappointed as the Vice Chair of the Commission in January 2022. She was a Member of the School Site Council at Hopkinson Elementary and Oak Middle School and a Representative of the Los Alamitos Unified School District Human Relations Task Force. Additionally, she contributed to the establishment of professional and effective programs and services designed to support the Safety and Student Services for the Los Alamitos Unified School District. Trisha is a certified Bartender, a Notary Public and Notary Loan Signing Agent, a U-Jam Cardio Fitness Instructor and was previously an AYSO referee.

 

Trisha believes that Los Alamitos is a thriving city full of amazing people that

contribute to making the community truly extraordinary.
