(Los Alamitos, CA) – The City of Los Alamitos is partnering with the Southern California Special Olympics to form a new Special Olympics local tennis team.
Potential athletes and volunteers are invited to learn more about this great opportunity during the Special Olympics Open House at 6:00pm on Tuesday, August 9th at the Los Alamitos Community Center at 10911 Oak Street, Los Alamitos.

The Open House will offer information about the history of Special Olympics, what it takes to become a Special Olympics athlete, volunteer opportunities and requirements and information about the new Los Alamitos tennis team.

Through Special Olympics, athletes with intellectual disabilities gain confidence, self-esteem, and develop life skills in a fun, supportive team environment. Volunteers enjoy rewarding experiences as the athletes’ coaches and assistant coaches.

RSVP to the Open House is highly encouraged. Please RSVP to Lindsey Marksbury at or call (714) 564-8374.
