Document Shredding Event To Help Cypress High Band for 2015 Tournament of Roses Parade
CYPRESS—Proceeds from the upcoming Chamber of Commerce document shredding event will be donated to assist in the fundraising efforts for the Cypress High School Band, a proud participant in the 2015 Tournament of Roses Parade in Pasadena. The Chamber is promoting the document shredding along with a free two-day e-waste recycling event to provide an easy way for people to get rid of unwanted electronics items or to make sure documents are disposed of in a proper way. The annual free electronic e-waste recycling event will be on October 3 and 4 at the rear parking lot of the Los Alamitos Race Course.
The Friday schedule is from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. while Saturday is set for 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. The document shredding service will be available Saturday only from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. There is a nominal $5 charge per banker’s box for shredding.
“One of the goals in promoting our e-Waste and Document Shredding event is to keep potential recycled materials from being dumped into a landfill,” said Chamber President/CEO Ed Munson. “Last year more than 11 tons of material was collected during the two-day event. There were a lot of people who took advantage of the document shredding service, too. The fundraising for the Cypress High School Band is another community outreach as we cheer the band members in the 2015 Rose Parade.”
All recycled items go to outlets in the United States for further dismantling. Entrance to the Los Alamitos Race Course parking lot can be made at the Walker Street and Vessels Circle intersection. For additional information, please contact the chamber office at (714) 827-2430.
