Every three years, Golden State Water Company (Golden State Water) is required to participate in a General Rate Case (GRC), or “rate case,” the public process by which state regulators (California Public Utilities Commission or CPUC) determine how much residents, commercial and industrial customers will pay for their water service.
The 2014 GRC filing is to establish rates in 2016, 2017 and 2018. Golden State Water is submitting proposals in the 2014 rate case to encourage water-use efficiency and ensure that the customers using the most water are proportionally responsible for the associated costs
