In response to the State’s most recent conservation mandates, Golden State Water Company has scheduled a public hearing and information meeting to discuss this more fully with customers and to receive public comments and input. Several of the State water conservation mandates are already in effect and others are expected be effective later this week or early next week.
The Public Hearing for the West Orange System of our Orange County District has been scheduled as follows:
Golden State Water Company
Public Hearing on Mandatory Water Conservation and Drought Response Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at 6:30 PM
Courtyard by Marriott
5865 Katella Avenue
Cypress, CA 90630
In general, the State mandated reduction is 16% for our Los Alamitos Customer Service Area (Los AL CSA), which includes Los Alamitos, Cypress, Stanton, and the Rossmoor Community Services District. Golden State is filing a tariff schedule with the CPUC and will send notices out to our customers by direct mailers announcing the tariff and the associated public hearing. We intend to implement a staged response with the first stage calling for two days per week watering. Additional response will be required if the first stage action does not achieve the state goal of 16% water use reduction in this area. The successive Stages 2, 3 and 4 add increasingly higher penalty rates for water used above the baseline allocation (2013 water use less 16%).
