Los Alamitos Spring Carnival
Coloring & Drawing Contest

(Los Alamitos, CA) – In conjunction with the annual Los Alamitos Spring Carnival, the City of Los Alamitos Recreation and Community Services Department is holding a coloring and drawing contest for children in Kindergarten through 5th grade.

Children in Kindergarten through 2nd grade can pick up a blank coloring page from the Community Center (10911 Oak St.) or color the cover of the Spring 2015 Activities Guide. Children grades 3rd through 5th need to draw and color an original design depicting “Springtime in Los Alamitos” using a minimum size 8.5” x 11” or maximum size 11” x 17” piece of paper. Participants may use any type of coloring item (crayons, markers, colored pencils, etc.)  Entries for both age groups must include the child’s name, grade, address and contact phone number. Completed coloring pages and drawings must be dropped off at the Community Center (10911 Oak St.) no later than Friday March 27, 2015 at 4:00pm.

Contest winners will be announced at the Spring Carnival on Saturday, April 4th, 2015 from 9:00am to 11:00 am at Little Cottonwood Park (4000 Farquhar Ave.). The Parks, Recreation and Cultural Arts Commission will select the top three entries for each age group, and those individuals will receive a prize at the Carnival.
