A resident of Los Alamitos, Mayor Troy Edgar was elected as a City Council member in 2006, and was also the Mayor in 2009 and 2012.
Mr. Edgar serves with dedication and works to support an efficient and effective City Government. He is always looking to utilize a more “cost effective approach” to running the City. He consistently encourages community participation and strives to utilize City resources to provide the most benefit to the residents of Los Alamitos.
Mr. Edgar has both a Bachelor of Science and a M.B.A. from the University of Southern California, Los Angeles. He has also been a guest lecturer at the University of Southern California on operations and business strategy and is a California state certified General engineer.
Mr. Edgar served in the U.S. Navy as a Submariner. He is the founder, President, and Chief Executive Officer for Global Conductor, a management consulting firm and Construction company that is based in Cypress. He has more than 25 years of business and consulting experience serving many Fortune 500 companies within the following industries: Aerospace, Automotive, Consumer Products, Entertainment, Financial Services, Public Sector & Infrastructure, and Technology. Mr. Edgar is a frequent industry speaker at prominent professional organizations and technology vendor’s user conferences on subjects that include management and organizational leadership, global program management, and strategy and delivery.
He has served as the Chairman of the Orange County Sanitation District Board, the Orange County Council of Governments (OCCOG), Orangeline Maglev Development Authority, the Southern California Association of Governments (SCAG), Orange County Fire Authority (OCFA) and the State of California Rivers & Mountains Conservancy. Mr. Edgar currently serves as on the board of directors for the Casa Youth Shelter and the St. Isidore Historical Society. He has been a member of the Los Alamitos School PTA and the Los Alamitos Chamber of Commerce. He has volunteered and sponsored various youth sports including AYSO, LAYB, and an employer of Los Alamitos ROP.
Mr. Edgar and his family live in the Greenbrook neighborhood. His family members include his wife Betty and three sons
