The Los Alamitos Permit Center is the City’s electronic plan check system which allows you to submit a permit application online and upload plans for plan review. By submitting your plans in an electronic format (PDF), most of the cost associated with paper plans is eliminated and you can stay updated on the progress of your project.

Please read these PDF SUBMITTAL GUIDELINES or your project may be rejected.


To Submit an Application:

  1. Create an account at this web site: https://citytech.cts.city/
  2. Verify your email address and then log back in at the above web site.
  3. Fill out the online permit application, upload your PDF plan documents and any supporting documents. Supporting documents could include:
    • OCFA Submittal Criteria Checklist for Residential or Commercial
    • Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing and Structural plan sheets
    • Structural Calculations
    • Title-24 Documents
    • Geotechnical and/or Soils Report
    • Homeowners Association (HOA) Approval Documents
  4. After we receive your submittal, someone from the City will contact you with a plan check fee that you’ll be able to pay over the phone with a credit card.

    3. New Multi-Family Residence
    4. New Commercial Development
    5. Tenant Improvements
    6.  Demolition
    7. Pools and Spas
    8. Solar Panels
    9. Accessory Dwelling Units
