Passport Acceptance Facility

NO WALK-INS ACCEPTED

The U.S. Passport Application Acceptance Office at the City of Los Alamitos is designated by the U.S. Department of State to accept passport applications (DS-11) for First Time Passport Applicants. 

Passport processing is completed by the U.S. Department of State.

We are only booking appointments 30 days out. If you do not see any available appointments on our bookings site, please visit the US Department of State's Passport Acceptance Facility Search Page: https://iafdb.travel.state.gov/DefaultForm.aspx for a list of other facilities in the area. 

If the applicant arrives 5 or more minutes late to your designated appointment, your appointment must be rescheduled.

Regular Service: 4-6 weeks

Expedited Services: 2-3 weeks (additional $60)

PASSPORT RENEWAL

The City of Los Alamitos does not process Passport Renewal applications (DS-82). Eligible renewal applications can be completed online or must be mailed by the applicant to Passport Services. Applications can be found online: https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/passports/how-apply/forms.html or can be obtained in our Passport Acceptance Facility.

Passport forms must be filled out and completed before your appointment time. If you arrive with incomplete forms, your appointment will be rescheduled.

Payment for U.S. Department of State can only be made by money order, cashier's check, or personal check. Cash and credit cards will not be accepted.

Payment for City of Los Alamitos can ONLY be made by credit card (Visa or Mastercard). Cash, money order, cashier's check, or personal checks will not be accepted.
