Improvements are Coming to the I-605/Katella Avenue Interchange
OCTA and Caltrans are kicking off construction on the I-605/Katella Avenue Interchange Project later this month. Contractors are expected to begin mobilizing equipment as they gear up for construction to improve the local interchange as well as enhance safety and mobility along Katella Avenue between Coyote Creek Channel and Epson Way. The project is intended to benefit motorists, bicyclists and pedestrians and include these improvements:
• Modifying northbound and southbound on- and off- ramps at Katella
• Adding Class II bike lanes and ADA curb ramps along eastbound and westbound Katella
• Reconstructing sidewalks to improve connectivity
• Installing new traffic signals, signage and crosswalk pavement markings
The project, expected to be completed in late 2026, is being supported by OCTA’s Public Outreach team, who is leading efforts to inform and engage the community. We encourage you to stop by OCTA’s booth to learn more about the project at the City’s Summer Concerts on June 19 and July 17. If you are a business, civic organization or community group interested in a briefing, please email 605KatellaInfo@octa.net.
